摘　　要：1967年,苏珊·桑塔格针对美国六十年代纷繁炫目的反文化,尤其是先锋艺术进行反思,发表《静默之美学》一文。她用"静默"(silence)一词概括先锋艺术的特征,并认为静默的艺术对于当代人具有天启式的作用和意义。今天,进一步分析桑塔格眼中的静默艺术的内涵与功用,对研究桑塔格的文艺观和反思我国先锋艺术都是十分必要的。In 1967, Susan Sontag published The Aesthetics of Silence which summarizes the counter -culture, especially the avant - garde art in the sixties in 20th＇ America. By summing up the avant - garde art with the word ＂silence＂, she held that the word bears apocalyptic significance for the contemporary people. Today, a further analysis of the connotations and function of the silent aesthetics is a necessity to study Sontag＇ s literary concepts and the avant- garde art in China.
