摘　　要：瓦尔德兹作为奇卡诺族的代言人,在其创作的戏剧中始终潜隐着隔膜的主题。通过戏剧展示了由于美国主流社会对奇卡诺族的歧视压制,而导致的生存在与其他种族之间、族群内部的阶层之间以及家庭内部的隔膜中的奇卡诺人的困境与情感痛苦,反映了奇卡诺族个体实现自我价值的渴望。As the mouthpiece of Chicano, Luis Valdez always potentially puts the theme of dissepiment into the drama he created. In the drama the puzzlement and feeling bitterness that Chicano suffered from the discrimination and suppression out of the American mainstream society but survived from the lack of mutual understanding with other races and stratums inside the race group as well as that inside families is really a reflection to the aspiration of self--worth by individuality in the nation of Chicano.
