摘　　要：文章介绍了 1999年土耳其伊兹米特地震和震害概况 ,并结合现场考察对建 (构 )筑物和生命线工程的震害特点和破坏原因做了讨论和分析。This paper introduced the general situation of the 1999 Izmit earthquake in Turkey and the caused damages. Based on the field investigations, disaster characteristic of buildings and lifeline engineering and their causes are discussed.
