The purpose of the experiment is to research the effect of exogenous leptin on blood indexes and behaviors of layers. 20 commercial Hyline layers of 260 days of age with similar body condition were randomly divided into 4 groups with 5 replications per group. As control group, group I were treated with leptin diluent. Group Ⅱ, Ⅲ and IV were treated with leptin at dose of 50 μg/kg d, 200 μg/kg.d and 400 μg/kg-d. The results showed that blood glucose level of test m, Ivdeclined significantly compared with control group (P〈0.05). Compared with control group, the food intake of group IV and the water intake of Group Ⅱ , Ⅲ and IV decreased significantly (P〈0.05). Difference of feeding frequency and drinking frequeney in each group were extremely prominent (P〈0.01).There was no difference in feather combing,stretching,turn-back in all groups (P〉0.05),but the fight of test groups decreased compared with control group (P〈0.01). In conclusion, the injection dose of exogenous leptin in 200-400 μg/kg· d could reduce the level of blood glueose and the occurrence of fight significantly, the depression of feeding in behaviors were characterized bylower frequency.
