摘 要:高校学生工作关系到大学生的身心健康发展和大学的人才培养质量。1869-1953年间,哈佛大学在学生规模不断扩大的情况下依然卓越前行。探究其间的学生管理工作,发现有四点经验和启示值得借鉴:一是学生管理的指导思想必须符合时代精神;二是校长切实重视学生工作;三是学生事务的性质逐渐从管理转向服务;四是学生事务须处理好学生学习和生活的关系。Student affairs are related to physical and mental health of college students and the quality of personnel training. During the period 1869-1953, Harvard University constantly expanded its students population. As a result, its educational quality did not fall but rose, which testifies to the outstanding management of student affairs as an important factor in Harvard's expansion and maintaining quality. In exploring student affairs from 1869 to 1953 in Harvard, this paper finds 1) the guidelines of student affairs were consistent with spirits of the times; 2) the university presidents paid much attention to student affairs; 3) the nature of student affairs gradually shifted from the administration to service; 4) the contents of student affairs were mainly to deal with the relation between learning and life.
