元语言否定的认知语用功能探微

摘　　要：元语言否定是同描述性否定相对而言的,自20世纪80年代中后期以来受到语言学者的关注。从认知语用学的角度探讨元语言否定的使用理据和功能特征,元语言否定通过对前述话语的回声式提述,传达了一种非真值的程序性意义,从而引导认知者寻找具有最佳关联性的语境效果,是人类根本的元表征能力的具体反映。Metalinguistic negation （opposite to descriptive negation） has become an important topic of linguistic discussions since the mid and late 1980s, This paper mainly deals with metalinguistic negation from the perspective of pragmatics and cognition. The author maintains that metalinguistic negation is an echoic mention of the pre-negation utterance and that it communicates a non-truth-conditional, procedural meaning, which guides the cognitive processor in processing the utterance efficiently within an optimally relevant context. And furthermore metalinguistic negation is a reflection of the more general ability of the humans to metarepresent.
