摘　　要：乌拉圭建筑师埃拉蒂迪·迭斯特既是一位有着深厚功底的结构工程师,也是一名有着理性精神和人文情怀的建筑师。他的作品体现了乌拉圭的本土地域特征,将结构、形式、材料、技艺、仪式等重要议题融为一体,发展出自承重筒拱和高斯拱两种结构范式。在几个教堂建筑的设计中,他成功地驾驭了空间和光,使之成为融合结构和建筑之美的典范。The Uruguayan architect Eladio Dieste is an engineer with a profound knowledge of civil engineering, as well as an architect with a rational, humanistic outlook. His work draws on the regional characteristics of Uruguay, and tries to integrate keyissues such as structure, form, material, technique and ritual into an organic whole, and in the process has developed two structural paradigms： the free standing barrel vault and the Gaussian vault. He has handled space and light successfully in several church designs, which are now viewed as the ideal models of structural engineering and architecture.
