摘　　要：韦尔斯的《世界史纲》在20世纪20年代传入中国。作为一部历史通俗读物,它在专业学术领域和历史知识普及方面都产生了一定的影响。在新中国建立之初的思想改造运动中,知识分子曾对韦尔斯进行过批判,但以今天的眼光来看,《世界史纲》对于中国的世界史学科体系的构建却有着相当的参考价值。The Outline of History written by Wells was introduced to China in the 1920s. As a popular book of history, it has a certain influence in the field of professional academic fields and historical literacy. In the ideological remodeling movement at the beginning of New China, intellectuals criticized Wells. From the present point of view, The Out/ine of History is of considerable reference to establish China＇ s disciplinary system of the world history.
