摘　　要：民间医术和民间药师是美国墨西哥裔社区中的独特文化现象,体现了美洲印第安自然哲学观和天主教信仰的结合。民间药师不仅行医治病,而且在美国墨西哥裔人的文化身份认同中充当着媒介作用,成为连结不同生存空间、不同文化的桥梁。民间药师的形象也是文学再现的重要主题,在美国多元文化背景下,象征着文化杂糅和对差异性的认同,成为美国墨西哥裔人生存智慧的体现。Curanderismo and curandero, as unique Mexican-American cultural phenomena, exemplify the syntheses of Native American naturalistic philosophy and Hispanic Catholicism. Curanderos are more than folk healers, to function as media in constructing Mexican-American identity and cultural identification. They have been metaphor- ized into images of bridges to negotiate diverse existences and cultures. The contextualization of curanderos in litera- ture is significant in the sense that they represent cultural hybridity and dialectics of differences, as wisdom to se- cure Mexican-American survials.
