摘　　要：画报是现代大众媒介的一种重要类型,它的孕育与发展是城市发展现代性和媒介本体现代化共同作用的结果。此二者可综合呈现一幅现代画报生存环境的真实图景,同时推知现代画报是城市现代化进程中媒介形式的必然选择。The pictorial is a kind of important type of the modern mass media. Its emergence and development depends on these two aspects ：the modernity of city＇s development and the modernization of media ontology. A real picture of modern pictorial existing environment is presented. And, modern pictorial is the inevitable choice in the process of modernization.
