现实与幻想的命运悲歌——解读亨利·詹姆斯与弗·司·菲兹杰拉德笔下的女性角色

摘　　要：美国现实主义作家亨利·詹姆斯擅长通过人物心理对话反映社会矛盾,被称为"心理小说大师";而现代主义代表作家弗兰茨·司各特·菲兹杰拉德则精于细节描写,并以丰富的想象展现人物的生活情感,是"爵士时代的梦想家"。本文拟从女性主义视角比较这两位作家的代表作品《黛西·米勒》和《冬日的梦》中的女性角色,通过分析人物的个性与命运,探讨两部作品中的女性意识在不同时代背景下的表现特征及其承袭关系。Henry James, American realist writer, is a master of addressing the social conflicts through psychological descriptions of the characters; F. Scott Fitzgerald, American modernist writer, is known as the ＂dreamer in the Jazz Age＂ for his full presentation of the characters＇ emotions at the time with details and imaginations. Their short novels Daisy Miller and Winter Dreams are acute portraits of Realism and Modernism in American literature. This paper intends to compare feminist features in the two stories by analysing the mentality and fate of the female characters. This paper will also explore the similarities and relations of feminist beliefs in the two separate time periods that the stories take place.
