摘　　要：丹江口库区位于湖北、河南和陕西三省交界处，由汉水从西向东及其支流丹江由北向南汇合而成。该区域内自然环境属于暖温带一亚热带气候类型，更新世期间动植物繁盛，适合古人类的生存和繁衍，是南北方古人类迁徙和文化交流的关键地带。近年来，大量旧石器时代遗存的发现表明该地区是研究古人类活动和文化交流的重要区域。The Dudian Paleolithic Site located in the Dudian Village, Junxian County, Danjiangkou City, Hubei Province is an important Paleolithic site with early and late cultural layers. From March to April 2008, scholars from Research Center of Chinese Frontier Archaeology, Jilin University conducted a rescue archaeological excavation project to this site as two zones. The lithic assemblage unearthed in the excavation included cores, flakes, chunks, pebbles and retouched tools, and the remains of a stone tool processing workshop was also found in the excavation. It is shown that the stone implements found in Zone II reflected the characteristics of the Pebble Tool Industry which belonged to the early Paleolithic Age, while the stone implements found in Zone I bore the characteristics of the Flake Tool Industry which belonged to the late Paleolithic Age. The excavation to this site enriched the understandings to the features of the Paleolithic cultures in the transitional regions between the northern and southern China and provided important materials for the exploration to the lives of the early human beings in the Han River Valley.
