摘　　要：新疆在中国历史上的民族团结、国家统一和对外经济文化交流中具有举足轻重的地位;在新中国,新疆由于其版图辽阔、区位特殊、资源物产丰富,仍然在国家政治、经济和社会发展中具有十分重要的战略地位。鉴于此,国家对新疆在物资供应、国家安全和地缘政治等方面给予了明确而突出的国家战略定位。"环新疆经济圈"思想和新疆向西开放战略的提出,使得新疆在中国的战略地位更加凸显,分析全球化背景下新疆向西开放对于中国开放发展的重要作用能够更为深入且具有现实意义。Xinjiang has been playing an important role in national unity, economic and cultural communication with foreigners for China historically. Because of its vast area, special location and abundant resources, Xinjiang maintains its key position in modem China in many aspects, including politics, economy and social development. For this reason, the central government clearly gives Xinjiang a crucial position in resources supply, national security and geopolitics in national strategy. The proposition of idea of Cycling Xinjiang Economic Region and the opening to the West strategy make Xinjiang＇ s important position more prominent. They also make the analyzing to function of ＂Xinjiang＇ s opening to west＂ to the opening and development of whole China under the background of globalization more profound and meaningful.
