The cultural contact between the Indians and the Whites in the colonial period of North America has a profound impact on the historical development in this area, which has attracted attentions from a large number of American earlier historians. Since 1960s, under the influence of the Civil Rights Movement and the New Culture Historiography, there come some new features of this study. The cultural contact between Indians and the Whites is gradually seen as a history of acculturation in between. Moreover, the feelings and views of the Indians and common Whites in the colonies were no longer been slighted by historians. The academic circles abroad mainly study it from the perspectives of politics, military, and economy. With the analysis of the main arguments and relevant works of North-American authors, this paper in more comprehensive ways shows the study of cultural relationship between Indian and the Whites in modern times.
