摘 要:宋教仁的民主信仰以乐观甚至天真的潮流史观为内核,将民主看作"国家建设"的关键,将平等视为民主的判准之维,并以此来论证通过暴力革命反抗清政府统治的合理性。在此基础上,宋教仁进而强调民主理念的落实有赖于民主政治的程序与制度,尤其是宪法的实施。他坚信其为之奋斗的责任内阁、政党政治和法治不仅是民主政治的表征,更是共和立宪的试金石。综合言之,宋教仁的民主思想虽然存在缺失,在实践中亦不免遭遇挫折,但对于初次学步民主宪政的中国来说,在学理和实践上均具有重要意义。The democratic ideas of Sung Chiao-jen were focused on a valid or even na? ve belief that the democracy is the tide of history, which cannot be resisted. He thought democracy was the key to the "nation building", equality was the criteri- on of democracy, and based on which, he explained the rationality and sanctity of violent revolution against the Manchu dynas- ty. Further, in terms of the realization of democracy, Sung Chiao-jen emphasized the implementation of procedures and systems of democracy, especially the constitution. He strongly believed that responsible cabinet, party politics and the rule of law were not only characteristics of democratic politics, but also the touchstone of constitutional republic. Generally speaking, although some defects existed in Sung Chiao-jen's democratic ideals, and some deviation happened in the practices, they played great aca- demic and practical influence on China which as a toddler on the path of constitutional democracy.
