摘  要:高校教师由于其社会地位、知识水准等诸多原因,与学生间存在一定的等级差距,在高校英语教学过程中,教师必然要面对这种差距带来的矛盾和冲突。教师在课堂上提问时可有效地使用礼貌原则,这是一个可以实现人与人间成功地进行沟通、交流的重要原则。英语教学中要合理地将利奇礼貌原则的6大准则:得体准则、慷慨准则、赞扬准则、谦虚准则、一致准则和同情准则。Because of elements such as teacher's social status, knowledge level, etc, there is a certain gap between college teachers and their students. In college English teaching activities, teachers have to face up to the contradic- tions and conflicts brought about by this gap. Teachers could effectively use politeness principle in classroom questioning, which is an important principle that people use to successfully communicate and exchange with each other. Taking the important role which politeness principle plays in English teaching as the point of departure, the article expounds how to reasonably put the six maxims of Leech's politeness principles ( Maxim of Tact, Generosity Maxim, Approbation Maxim, Modesty Maxim, Agreement Maxim and Sympathy Maxim) into college English class questioning.
