摘　　要：从性别视域的角度入手,对英国著名作家D.H.劳伦斯的《母女二人》和我国当代女作家陈染的《无处告别》两个中篇小说中的母女关系书写进行对比,旨在分析两位作家如何以不同的性别视角在各自的小说文本中描述和解码现代社会中错综复杂的母女关系,总结他们在各自作品中对女性主体意识所持的不同观点,从而进一步探讨当代女性走出母女关系困境的可能。From the gender perspective this paper presents a contrast of the writing about the mother - daughter relationship in the two novelettes, namely Mother and Daughter by the famous British writer D. H. Lawrence and Farewell to Nowhere by the contemporary Chinese female writer Chen Ran. The analyses aim to expose how the two authors describe and decode the complicated mother-daughter relationships in the modem society in their respective works from the different gender perspectives. Summarizing their distinct viewpoints on the female subject consciousness in their works, the paper further discusses the possibility for the modern women to walk out of the dilemma of mother-daughter relationships.
