摘　　要：欧内斯特-盖恩斯是美国当代著名黑人作家，他文学创作的重大主题之一是黑人男性气概的建构。本文认为，女性在黑人男性气概的建构过程中有着不可低估的影响和作用，女性叙事也是欧内斯特·盖恩斯小说中黑人男性气概建构策略的重要组成部分。本文通过对欧内斯特·盖恩斯的《凯瑟琳·卡米尔》、《简·皮特曼小姐的自传》与《刑前一课》三部重要作品中的女主人公的人物形象分析，深入剖析欧内斯特·孟思斯小说中女性在黑人男性气概建构过程中所经历的由对支配性男性气概的痴迷到解构，再到对新型男性气概重构的参与历程，由此管窥欧内斯特·盖恩斯小说中黑人男性气概的思想内涵。Ernest Gaines is an important African American writer. Black manhood is a dominant theme throughout his fictions. The paper maintains that black women have exerted an important influence upon the black manhood construction. Woman narrative is also one important strategy of black manhood construction in Ernest Gaines＇ s fictions. By analyzing the heroines in Catherine Carmier, The Autobiography of Jane Pittman,A Lesson Before Dying,this paper attempts to explore the process of black women＇ s participation in the construction of black manhood from fascination and deconstruction of the traditional hegemonic manhood to the reconstruction of a new type of black manhood, thus probing the ideological connotation of black manhood in Ernest Gaines＇ s novels.
