摘　　要：越来越多的人意识到,科学的游客管理是解决世界文化遗产地资源利用和保护矛盾的有效手段,而定期开展游客调查及时了解游客的感受、需求及相关信息,则应该成为遗产地游客管理部门制定任何游客管理计划的前提和依据。本文将通过对莫高窟游客调查活动的介绍,阐明科学、规范、常态化的游客调查对提升文化遗产地游客管理水平所具有的重要意义。Scientific visitor management is effective in bridging the contradiction between utilization and preservation of world cultural heritage sites. A periodic visitor survey carried out to examine the experiences, requirements, and relevant information of visitors in a timely manner should be a prerequisite and basis for the development of any visitor management plan. By introducing the visitor investigation activities at the Mogao Grottoes, this paper evaluates the significance of scientific, standardized, and routine visitor observation for improving visitor management at cultural heritage sites.
