[ Objective ] To investigate the distribution of chlamydia trachomatics( CT ) antibody IgG in recruits, and provide scientific evidence for further prevention. [ Methods ] A serological study was conducted by using Enzyme-Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay ( ELISA) ,serum samples of 364 recruits , who came from 16 provinces during the past 8 years, were tested to detect CT antibody IgG and the overall positive rate was analyzed statistically. [ Results] The positive rate of CT-IgG was 4.35% -15.56% among re- cruits from 2001-2008, with 10.71% in average, and the positive rate was not significantly different between 8 years (P 〉 0.05). The higher level found in recruits from Jiangsu(26.09% ), Shanxi(26.09%) and Tianjin( 21.74% ), and the recruiters from oth- er regions were at a lower level. The positive rates ranged from 4.35%-26.09%, with 10.71% in average. There was no signifi- cant difference of the antibody positive rate between the recruiters with occupation background or not before their recruitment. [ Conclusion] CT antibody level is relatively low among healthy young adults, CT susceptibility is high among them. It is necessary to enhance healthy education to improve the level of knowledge of disease control.
