语法隐喻视角下《少年Pi的奇幻漂流》之人际意义

摘　　要：在系统功能语言学理论框架内运用语法隐喻中的语气隐喻理论,分析语篇中语气隐喻所体现的人际功能和意义,是解读文学作品的一种方式。在本小说中交际双方对语气隐喻的选择是不同的,语气隐喻的选择有助于塑造交际双方的人物角色、揭示不同的态度以及双方的话语权势。Within the framework of Systemic Functional Linguistics, this paper presents a discourse analysis of the novel Life of Pi in terms of the theory of mood metaphor in interpersonal grammatical metaphor. It aims to exam- ine how the interpersonal meaning is realized by mood metaphor. The study shows that the choice of mood meta- phor is different between the two parties of communication. The Japanese officials＇ metaphorical choice of indic- ative mood instead of interrogative one realizes that they are ignorant, arrogant and obstinate; however, Pi＇ s metaphorical choice of interrogative mood instead of indicative one realizes Pi＇ s emotional change from politeness to silence and restlessness. Mood Metaphor is helpful to construct characterization, attitude and power for the two parties of communication.
