摘　　要：笔者回顾了世界各地竹建筑的历史,讲述了竹材同其他建筑材料,诸如天然泥土/石灰、近代混凝土/水泥、胶粘剂之间的关系。竹子是世界上生长速度最快的植物,具有优良的结构性能,但在建筑中的潜力还未被充分挖掘。本文在描述世界各地竹建筑现状的同时,指出了目前竹建筑产业所面临的挑战,并就进一步的研究和发展提出了一些建议。In this paper, the authors review use of bamboo in architecture around the world and its relationship to other construction materials, such as natural clays and lime, cement and concrete and glues. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world with excellent structural performance, but has yet to fulfill its full potential in construction. The paper reports on the current status quo of bamboo architecture around the world and outlines some challenges to the sector, as well as recommendations for further research and development for the architectural community.
