摘　　要：凯瑟琳·波特是20世纪美国最出色的短篇小说家之一。本文就凯瑟琳·波特的三篇作品《灰色马，灰色的骑手》、《偷窃》和《被遗弃的韦瑟罗尔奶奶》进行主题分析，通过探讨作品主题和人物形象，展现凯瑟琳·波特作品中强烈个人意识的悲剧主题。Katherine Ann Porter is one of the most brilliant practitioners of the art of short story. The present thesis is a thematic study on Porter＇s works： ＂Pale Horse, Pale Rider＂, ＂Theft＂ and ＂The Jilting of Granny Weatherall＂. It intends to investigate the tragic vision from the point of view of individualism through the themes and characterization of the works.
