摘　　要：美国大学制度的有效性在于其基于实用理性而随时、就势善变。在新自由主义、新管理主义、市场逻辑的多重压力之下,美国大学校长分身有术:Provost作为学术副校长的权重逐渐加大,有效沟通了大学内外治理结构,保障了学术质量和学术权力。总结美国大学治理结构变革的新特点,对建构中国大学内部治理结构具有借鉴意义。Based on the practical rationality, the American university system is always changeable timely. Under the multiple pressures from new liberalism, new managerialism and the logic of the market, the American university president has made division of their roles. Being the vice president of the university, the provost is responsible for the academic quality assurance and academic authority. It is meaningful for the construction of the internal university governance structure in China to summarize the new features of the American university governance.
