摘  要:本文是我们从认知语言学角度分析五行概念的系列研究之一。语料分析显示,古汉语中的[金]背后存在概念借代[金代金的特征]、[金代金属]、[金代金属制品]和[金代财富],概念隐喻[具有金(属)的特征的事物/现象是金]、[美好是金]、[人是金]以及[历运更替是五行更替]。现代汉语中的[金]体现出对古汉语中的[金]的批评性和选择性的继承和发展,主要表现为概念借代[金代金的色泽]、[金代金属]、[金代金属制品]和[金代钱财],概念隐喻[具有金的特征的事物/现象是金]、[人是金]以及[好是金]。This is a part of our research from a cognitive linguistic perspective on the Five Elements (GOLD, WOOD, WATER, FIRE and EARTH) in Chinese. The ancient Chinese data reveal the existence of a series of conceptual metonymies and conceptual metaphors behind GOLD, namely, GOLD FOR FEATURES OF GOLD, GOLD FOR METAL, GOLD FOR METALLIC PRODUCTS and GOLD FOR WEALTH, and A (N) PHENOME- NON/OBJECT WITH FEATURES OF GOLD IS GOLD, BEING GOOD IS GOLD, HUMAN BEING IS GOLD, and REPLACEMENT OF DYNASTIES IS REPLACEMENT OF THE FIVE ELEMENTS. The modem Chinese data un- cover a critical and selective inheritance of the ancestors' cognitive mechanisms by the contemporaries. Behind GOLD in modem Chinese stand the following conceptual metonymies and metaphors: GOLD FOR THE COLOR OF GOLD, GOLD FOR METAL, GOLD FOR METALLIC PRODUCTS, and GOLD FOR FORTUNE, and A (N) PHENOMENON/OBJECT WITH FEATURES OF GOLD IS GOLD, BEING GOOD IS GOLD, and HUMAN BEING IS GOLD.
