摘　　要："五四"时期,极富革命精神的湖南文人在时局危急之际,在这场开创历史的文化变革中,划出了自己鲜明的轨迹,作出其特有的贡献,使新文学在湖南呈现出蓬勃的生机和长足的发展。以青年学生为运动主体以及进步期刊与文化社团的大量涌现是湖南新文化运动的特色,白话文学的倡导是湖南新文学兴起的标志,而新文学社团与刊物的出现则是湖南新文学走向成熟的标志。In the May Fourth Period, scholars in Hunan who were full of revolutionary spirit left their distinct tracks and made their u- nique contribution at this specific moment with crisis, which made new literature demonstrate v/brant outlook and long - term develop- ment. Young students being the main force and the emergency of advanced journals and cultural associations in a great number are the characteristics of new literature in Hunan; the advocacy of vernacular literary symbolizes the rise of new literature in Hunan; and the appearance of new literature associations and journals marks new literature in Hunan heading towards maturity.
