海洋社会学英文译名辨析--以人类海洋开发活动变迁为视角的考察

摘　　要：海洋社会学在体系框架与基本概念上所存在的观点不一导致相关用语出现概念混淆与用法不规范,其中就包括关于海洋社会学的对应英文译名的概念混淆问题,这类问题反过来又阻碍了学科发展的进程。目前,存在三种"海洋社会学"的对应英译名称:marine sociology、maritime sociology和ocean sociology,三个词组分别描述了人类海洋开发行为的三个阶段,对海洋社会学英文译名进行辨析,实质上是立足于全球化时代下的当今现实社会,对海洋社会学的研究对象作出判断。人类海洋开发行为经历了marine sociology所描述的与海洋直接相连的有限空间中的滨海开发实践活动阶段、maritime sociology所描述的沿海区域社会中的涉海开发实践活动阶段,进入了ocean sociology所描述的环海区域社会整体中的全面海洋开发实践活动的阶段。Different opinions on the framework and basic concepts of ocean sociology resulted in confu- sion on some terminology, and had made it difficult for researchers to discuss on the key concepts so as to push this subject forwards. A key problem is the translation of the subject name. There are three different kinds of translation of the subject name now, including ＂marine sociology＂, ＂maritime sociology＂ and ＂ocean sociology＂, which describe three stages of people＇ s ocean exploring behaviors. The discussion on the translation of this subject＇ s name is important to determine the research object of the subject. The process of people＇ s exploring behaviors can be divided into three stages, that is, the exploring behavior in the limited space relat- ed to sea directly which is described by ＂marine sociology＂; the stage of exploring behavior in coastal region involved in sea which is described by ＂maritime sociology＂; the stage of comprehensive exploring behavior in the whole region space surrounding one ocean which is described by ＂ocean sociology＂.
