Objective To study the influence of hyperhomocysteinemia levels on cognitive dysfunction of cerebral small vascular disease. Methods Cases of cerebral small vascular disease diagnosis standard of MoCA score were selected, divided into Cognitive Dysfunction Group and Non-- cognitive Dysfunction Group, determined levels of homocysteine, observed the differences of homocysteine level between two groups and assessed the level of cognitive function. Results Homocysteine level of cognitive dysfunction group was significantly higher than that of non--cognitive dysfunction group; in cognitive dysfunction group, impaired executive function, visual space function, language of homocysteine levels were significantly higher than those without damaged. Conclusions H yperhomocysteinemia level, is one of the factors which cause the small brain vascular disease and cognitive dysfunction, and has more obvious influence on the executive, visual space and language functions.
