摘  要:Due to rare experimental study about case variability in the clinical skills assessment, this study intended to compare case variability on a chronological clinical skill assessment conducted at Northeastern Ohio Universities College of Medicine (NEOUCOM) with other studies obtained in literatures. A design of examinee crossed by case based on generalizability (G) theory was conducted. Results showed that large variances of case and the interaction between examinee and case would contribute to small G coefficients. To achieve a satisfied G coefficient, the number of cases needed to be enlarged. Furthermore, using multiple raters to score each case might be an alternative design on clinical skills assessment in future studies.
