Objective To describe the recent tuberculosis infection status and dynamic variation in newly enrolled soldiers and provide guidance for TB control in army. Methods Purified protein derivative of tuberculin (PPD)test was performed in newly enrolled soldiers stationed in Beijing from 2009 to 2012.The PPD reaction was examined after 72 h. The PPD positive rate distribution was calculated and the infection rate was judged by positive reaction with no scar on forearm. Results The PPD positive rate in newly enrolled soldiers was from 48.5%-58.0% and the average positive rate was 52.0% showed a descending trend.. The strong positive rate of PPD test was from 2.2% -4.1% and the average was 3.0%, showed a descending trend. The infection rate of TB in newly enrolled soldiers was 25.2%-27.5%, being averagely 26.3% ,the annual average infection rate of tuberculosis was 1.59%. There was no statistically significant difference in TB infection rate in the four years(PM).05). Tubercular infection rate in urban soldiers(27.7%)was significant higher than the soldier from rural area (25.2%)(P〈0.05). Conclusions The natural infection rate of TB was stable that is the main cause leading to the high infection rate in army.
