摘　　要：At the invitation of Premier Li Keqiang, British Prime Minister David Cameron paid an official visit to China from December 2 to 4, accompanied by a delegation of business representatives more than 100 strong, Britain＇s largest-ever trade mission to China. The visit was the first opportunityfor Cameron to meet the new Chinese leadership. Compared with the frequent visits between Beijing and other European Union member states, Britain has been lagging behind in its contacts with China. Cameron said he intended to use the visit to shift the bilateral relationship up a gear and deepen the lasting partnership in the interests of growth and reform.
