摘　　要：王锡彤起初不过是个地方士绅,只因归隐彰德的袁世凯请他帮助经营实业,才有了晋升机会。武昌起义后,王锡彤进而成为袁世凯的贴身谋士,尽管因劝阻袁世凯镇压革命曾惹怒过后者,但在如何处理与革命党的关系方面,袁世凯仍很重视王锡彤的政治见解。然而清帝退位后,袁世凯却过河拆桥,执意复辟帝制,于是王锡彤不得不远离政治,终身埋首于工商实业。WANG Xitong, a local gentry, grasped the chance of promotion when YUAN Shikai asked him to help business industry dur- ing his hermitage in Zhangde. Although he angered YUAN Shikai due to his dissuasion of not suppressing the revolution, but in terms of how to deal with the relationship with the revolutionary party, YUAN Shikai was still very attached to WANG Xitong~ political views after the Wuchang uprising, thus WANG Xitong became YUAN Shikai~ personal advisor. When Qing emperor abdicated, YUAN Shi- kai insisted on the restoration of the monarchy, thus WANG Xitong vowed to ignore politics, engaged in industrial and commercial.
