摘　　要：文章介绍了爱尔兰都柏林牙科医院改建设计,该设计将五座老的乔治亚式的排屋转变为旧城区教育机构圣三一学院的教学与办公空间。这一设计针对街道二层以上楼层(底层仍保留作为商店),通过穿过承重墙的走廊将建筑横向连接起来,创造了一条木棂排列而威的"空中街道"。在交通、屋顶层和细部等方面的设计也极有特色。该项目的建筑设计方法体现了现存建筑材料与完成面细致的保护和当代激进介入方式的完美结合。The Dental Hospital project in Dublin, Ireland takes five old Georgian terrace houses andtransforms them into teaching and office space for an inner city educational institution. Restricted to upper floors over the street （the ground floor remain as shops）, the scheme connects the buildings laterally through the spine walls, creating a timber- lined ＇street in the air＇. The circulation focuses on a major iightwell at one end which links the levels and acts as a social space. On the roof, zinc ＇pods＇ are added over each of the original house units, using the old structure to support them, creating a series of interconnected library ＇rooms＇ on different levels. The form of the pods is governed in width by the oldstructure; the architects had discretion about height and the degree to which they overhang the building edge. The architectural approach to the project is one of combining careful conservation of existing materials and finishes with radical contemporary intervention.
