摘　　要：人民监督员制度在尊重和保障人权方面发挥了较大的作用,加强了对检察机关的监督与制约,对保障刑诉法尊重和保障人权原则得到正确执行有重要意义。更好的发挥人民监督员制度尊重和保障人权功能应从以下几个方面着手:选任优秀的人民监督员队伍;尝试扩大人民监督范围;创新人民监督员监督形式。People supervisor system plays a larger role in respecting and protecting human rights ,strengthens super-vision and restriction to procuratorial organs ,and has important significance on the correct implementation of protec-ting Criminal Procedure Law ’ s principle of respecting and protecting human rights .The function of respecting and protecting human rights of people supervisor system can be better played through electing an excellent team of peo -ple supervisor ,trying to expand the scope of people supervision ,and innovating supervision forms of people supervi-sors.
