摘　　要：语言是人类社会最基本的生存要素之一,也是人类社会发展的最重要因素,这一点在经济全球化、信息化、媒体化时代尤为突出,它关涉各国各民族政治、经济、文化以及人们生活和交往的各个方面。关注和考察语言生活状况,有助于我们掌握各国语言发展及其与政治、经济、文化等的关系和动态,有助于及时调整语言战略、改进语言布局和提高语言教育质量,也有助于了解我国语言在世界发展格局中的地位和变化。可以说,观察语言变化也是观察世界动态的一个重要的、敏感的和及时的窗口。Language is one of the essentials for the existence and development of the human society, which stands especially prominent in the age of medialization, informationization and globalization at the present. Language permeates through human life in its various aspects, such as politics, economy, culture, daily communication and the like. A due attention to and observation of the language life abroad, therefore, would keep us abreast with the change and trend of the world languages and their dynamic relations with the relevant politics, economy and culture. It would also help to better the readjustment of language strategic planning and policy, of language education including that of foreign languages, and facilitate a better understanding of the state and status of our national language among the languages of the world. Language life provides, indeed, an important window to observe the timely and sensitive changes of the languages and their relative world.
