摘　　要：海瑞在明朝嘉靖至万历年间宦海沉浮,素以直言敢谏、廉洁反贪、勤政爱民著称。他一生为官,处处"为民"着想,坚持"为民"办实事,办好事。其言论与举措,切中时弊,反映了国情民情,顺应了民心,既有裨于整饬吏治,缓和社会矛盾,维护社会治安,又有利于减轻劳苦大众的赋役负担,缓解他们的痛苦,改善他们的生存环境。因此,海瑞最终不仅获得了朝野内外大多数官僚、士大夫们的认同,而且深受广大人民群众的拥护和爱戴,至今仍被视为官员的楷模。Hai Rui is famous for his outspoken, honest, diligent and ＂for the people＂ behavior during the ups and downs of the officialdom from Jiajing to Wanli of the Ming Dynasty. During his official career, he always thought for the people and persisted in doing useful and good things for the people. His speech and behavior hit to the social malpractice, reflected the real situation of the country and people, and complied with the aspirations of the people. All the things he had done not only help to regulate the administration of officials, ease the social conflicts, maintain the social order, but also help to relieve people＇ s burden of taxes and corvee, alleviate their agony, and improve their living condition. Eventually Hai Rui got the recognition of most officials and literati and the support and love of the people, and even now he is still seen as the model of officials.
