(P<0 .0 5 ) .AIM To investigate the influence of animal body position on electromagnetic field (EMF) bioeffects. METHODS By using classical Y maze method and improved open field method, the learning ability and the investigation reflex of mice in different body position (the long body axes of animal are parallel, vertical or uncontrolled to the direction of magnetic force) after EMF exposure was measured. RESULTS There was no obvious difference in learning ability of mice between different position groups after exposure, but their investigation reflexes were different. Immediately after 40 kV·m -1 EMF exposure, the investigation reflexes of mice in parallel group was obviously lower than those of mice in uncontrolled group ( P <0.05). Four weeks after exposure, the investigation reflexes of mice in 40 kV·m -1 parallel group were obviously higher than those of mice in 40 kV·m -1 uncontrolled group; the investigation reflexes of mice in 8 kV·m -1 parallel group were obviously lower than those of mice in uncontrolled group; and the investigation reflexes of mice in 80 kV·m -1 vertical group were obviously higher than those of mice in 80 kV·m -1 uncontrolled group ( P <0.05). CONCLUSION Body position of mice in EMF field can induce the bioeffects.
