摘 要:西方学者曾热衷于探讨符号与图案之间的分界,即单纯装饰性与象征性之间的区别。划清装饰与象征的区别是很困难的事情,因为两者本来就是互为一体的。中国传统文化中象征与装饰结合的例子比比皆是,以团花剪纸为例,视团花剪纸的整体为图案,其中的线条为符号,通过分析团花剪纸的符号和图案看团花剪纸的装饰性与象征性如何共存。Western scholars were full of enthusiasm about probing the boundary between symbol and patterns or pictures, which means the difference between pure decoration and symbolism. It would be a tough problem to make clear the difference of decoration and symbol because they constitute as an organic whole. So E. H. Gombrich was not agreed that the counterpart of the combination of symbol and decoration can not be found in Chinese culture said in his book Sense of Order. Actually it is not difficult to find the combination of symbol and decoration everywhere in Chinese culture. This thesis focuses on the medallion scissorcut, approaching the coexistence between the decoration and symbolism of medal- lion scissorcut with the whole of scissorcut as the picture, the linellae as the symbol.
