摘　　要：2009年末到2010年6月间,江苏泰州城南水关遗址经过抢救性考古发掘,揭示出修筑于后周和宋之间的早晚两期水关遗迹和吊桥基座,出土了宋以来的陶瓷器、铭文砖、钱币等文物,为研究水关的历史提供了实物资料。水关的发现同时为研究宋代以来泰州城市布局提供了参照物。A preventive excavation was conducted at the ancient water gate site in southern Taizhou, Jiangsu from the end of 2009 to June of 2010. The excavation disclosed the remains of the water gate and suspension bridge foundation built in two different periods between later Zhou and Song. A range of artefacts including porcelain wares, inscribed bricks and coins, the earliest of which date back to the Song Dynasty, were also unearthed. The discovery provides material data for the study of the water gate history. It also serves as a reference for studying the historical development of the city layout of Taizhou since the Song Dynasty.
