城市女性丧偶老人社会活动参与和抑郁状况的关系

摘　　要：基于中国健康与养老追踪调查2011年基线调查的数据,文章分析了城市丧偶老年人的抑郁状况和多项社会活动参与情况的性别差异,探讨了活动参与和抑郁情绪的关系。研究发现,丧偶老人较有偶老人抑郁程度更高。不同性别丧偶老人的社会活动参与程度没有明显差异。多元分层逐步回归的结果显示,对丧偶男性而言,参加社会活动和抑郁状况无显著关系;而经常参加跳舞健身的女性抑郁程度较低。研究结果意味着老人对丧偶事件的应对可能存在性别差异。社会服务在关注老年丧偶群体的心理和社会需求时,应根据性别差异提供适应的活动,更有效地帮助他们对抗抑郁情绪。This study aims to investigate gender differences in the relationship between social participation and depression on the part of urban widowed elders. Data for this study comes fi＇om the 2011 China Health and Retirement Longitudinal Study. It is found that the depression scores of the widowed elders are higher than those shared by their married counterparts. There is no significant gender dif- ference in the participation of different types of social activities. However, multivariate analysis shows that for widowers, their engage- ment in social activities is not significantly related to depression; while for widows, who often take part in dance/sport club activities, depression is negatively related to social participation. This study implies that women and men elders cope with widowhood differently. Social services should pay more attention to the widowed elders and their gender differences.
