Objective To observe the effects of Didang decoction on learning and memory ability in rats with Alzheimer disease (AD).Methods 40 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into pseudo operation group, model group, aricept group and Didang decoction group.AD model rats were made using the right hippocampus one-time injection state of aggregation of A beta 25-35 method. After the modeling, navigation test and space exploration experiments were per- formed, and then continuous oral administration for 8 weeks, after the medication Morris water maze experiment was con- tinued to observe the changes of learning and memory ability in different groups of rats. Results Compared with model group, the escape latent period of rats in each treated group was shortened obviously (P〈0.05 or P〈0.01),it was more significantly shortened in Didang decoction group as compare to that in Aricept group (P〈0.05).At the same time, after administration, the step-down frequency of rats was significantly increased than before the experiment in both Aricept group and Didang decoction group (P〈0.05),and it was more significantly increased in Didang decoction group com- pared with Aricept group (P〈0.05).Conclusion Didang decoction can improve the learning and memory ability of rats with Alzheimer disease.
