摘　　要：任何时代,大学之所以是大学都有赖于我们对大学共同底线的坚守。早期的大学虽是西方文明的产物,但时至今日,大学已成为整个人类共享的智慧之花。大学的理想在于实现高等教育与科学研究间的平衡,20世纪研究型大学的兴起破坏了这种平衡,近年来创业型大学的兴起又显示出企业化可能正在突破大学的传统边界。当今时代,理性大学和文化大学已逐渐衰落,以研究型和创业型为标志的世界一流大学正成为时代的宠儿。但高等教育的历史和现实告诉我们,那些所谓的世界一流大学只是政府和企业想要(want)的大学,而非我们需要(need)的大学。我们需要的是致力于人的自由和解放事业,能够培养"好人"的"好大学"。No matter what era we are in, that universities could be called universities is due to our joint effort to stick to the bottom line of universities. As an outcome of human civilization, universities share the same bottom line with human beings. Universities are ai- ming at the balance between higher education and scientific research. The rise of research u- niversities in the 20th century destroyed the internal balance of universities between higher education and scientific research. Recent emergence of entrepreneurial universities shows that enterprise pattern is challenging the boundary of traditional universities. With the de- cline of rational and cultural universities, those world-class universities marked as research and entrepreneurial universities have become the favorite of the times. In practice, the so- called world-class universities are what the government and enterprise want, but not ours. What we really need are good universities committed to the human freedom and emancipation as well as the cultivation of human beings.
