摘　　要：台湾是中国的宝岛,美国觊觎占据中国台湾由来已久。在19世纪四五十年代,美国商人汤森·哈里斯、美国海军准将马修·佩里和美国驻华公使伯驾分别向美国政府提出占领台湾的各种主张和计划,他们在台湾的一系列活动,成为日后美国制定对台湾政策的重要依据。美国觊觎台湾以及后来制订一个个侵台计划,正是美国亚太政策的缩影。Taiwan is an integral part of China, but USA has long attempted to occupy it. In the 1940s-50s, Townsend Harris, an American merchant; Mathew C. Perry, an American commodore; and Peter Parker, an A- merican envoy in China, respectively presented to the US government various proposals and plans for occupying Taiwan, and their series of activities in Taiwan constituted the key bases for the policy of the US government on Tai- wan later on. The attempt of USA to occupy Taiwan and its relevant schemes were an epitome of USA＇ s policies on the Asian Pacific region.
