摘　　要：对千兆比以太网的物理层和网络特性进行了技术分析；介绍了建立在密集波分复用技术基础上的千兆比以太网（即GE over DWDM）的基本工作方式，并从应用与技术两方面与相关技术作了比较。得出的结论是：兼备光波分复用和以太网两者优点的GE over DWDM对于构建光因特网是最具发展潜力的技术。 The physical layer and network features of Gigabit Ethernet are analyzed in technical term． The basic principles of Gigabit Ethernet based on DWDM i．e． GE over DWDM are introduced in this paper and the comparison with related technologies are given out in terms of applications and technologies． Finally it is concluded that GE over DWDM with the advantages of both optical WDM and Ethernet is the most promising technology for the construction of optical Internet．
