民本与民主之辨析

摘　　要：中国政治传统中的民本思想,和西方的民主思想与制度,是两种不同的政治理念,各有侧重和利弊。前者关注共同的福利,后者则强调多数的权力。两者对于建设中国社会主义民主政治制度具有一定借鉴意义,但无论是民本还是民主,都只是手段而非目的,在具体借鉴过程中应取其精华、去其糟粕。The people- rooted thought and the democracy are two extremely different categories in the Chinese political tradition and western democratic ideas. Each has its own pros and cons. The former focuses on common benefits, while the latter emphasi- zes the power of majority. Both have references for constructing the Chinese democratic socialist system. No matter which one to be referenced, it is just a method rather than an aim. The essence should be taken and the dregs should be discarded.
