摘　　要：修辞学史研究和修辞史研究是修辞学研究中的两个至关重要的方面,宗廷虎先生在这两个方面都取得了令人瞩目的成就。就修辞史研究而言,在理论探索中,指明了修辞史研究的性质、对象和范围,阐明了修辞史研究的必要性和重要性,探明了修辞史研究的方法,阐述了辞格史研究的理论;在实践研究中,具体研究了借代、引用、避讳、回文、镶嵌、顶真这六个辞格的历史演变,进而研究了诗歌体中连珠格、顶真辞格连环体、药名嵌字格的历史演变和春秋战国时期的引用辞格,系统研究了中国集句史;在方向引领中,组织撰写《中国修辞史》和《中国辞格审美史》。这些成就,对修辞学研究将起到十分重要的作用,产生非常深远的影响。History of rhetoric study and history of rhetoric are two essential and related parts of rhetoric study.Mr.Zong Tinghu has made remarkable achievements in both fields.As for his studies of Chinese history of rhetoric,his theoretical contributions include：clarifying the nature,object and scope of the studies;illustrating their necessity and importance;displaying the research methods; summing up the theory in researching the history of figures of speech.Among his many studies are the diachronic description of 6figures of speech,compilation of Chinese History of Rhetoric and Chinese History of Rhetoric Aesthetics,and many others.
