Objective To study and compare the accuracy of CT and MILl in the diagnosis of extreme lateral lumbar disc herniation. Methods 82 cases of patients diagnosed with extreme lateral lumbar disc herniation in our hospital from January 2011 to March 2013 were selected as the research objects, they were divided into observation group (41 cases) and control group (41 cases) by random number table method. The observation group got positive detection rate of extreme lateral lumbar disc herniation by MILl, the control group got that by CT. Compared the positive detection rate of two groups, Results The I detection rate of observation group was 36.59%(15/41), positive detection rate was 97.56%(40/41),which were significantly higher than that of control group[21.95%(9/41), 75.61%(31/41)],with statistical significance(p〈0.05). The rate of misdiagnosis in observation group[2.44%(1/41)] was significantly lower than control group[24.39%(10/41)], the differences had statistical significance(p〈0.05). Conclusion Detection rate of extreme lateral lumbar disc herniation by MRI is significant, and MRI can decrease the rate of nfisdiagnosis significantly, which deserves to be recommended in clinic.
