摘　　要：介绍了Ｂｅｒｋｅｌｅｙ Ｓｏｃｋｅｔｓ和Ｗｉｎｄｏｗｓ Ｓｏｃｋｅｔｓ的由来，着重介绍了Ｓｏｃｋｅｔ地址的概念，应用ｓｏｃｋｅｔ进行通信的原理、过程以及步骤，接着讲述了Ｂｅｒｋｅｌｅｙ Ｓｏｃｋｅｔｓ和Ｗｉｎｄｏｗｓ Ｓｏｃｋｅｔｓ的区别，最后论述了应用Ｓｏｃｋｅｔ为Ｉｎｔｅｒｎｅｔ编程的过程和步骤，并对一些重要的函数作了详细介绍．In this paper the origins of Berkeley Sockets and Windows Sockets are introduced. The conception of the socket address and the principle of communicating with socket are emphasized. The differences between Berkeley Sockets and Windows Sockets are discussed in succession. In the end, the process and steps how to program for Internet with socket are presented and some important func tions are introduced too.
