Objective To observe the effect of acupoint electrotherapy on serum superoxide dismutase(SOD) and malondiadehyde(MDA) in soldiers undergone high-intensity military training, and to provide evidence for enhancing the military training quality. Method Sixty healthy soldiers were randomized into an acupoint electrotherapy group of 30 cases and a control group of 30 cases. The contents of serum SOD and MDA of the subjects were detected before and after a 5-km running as well as 5 d later after training. Result The SOD contents increased in both groups after training(P0.01), and the contents in the acupoint electrotherapy group were significantly higher than those in the control group after training and 5 d later after training(P0.05). The MDA increased in both groups after training, and the contents in the acupoint electrotherapy group were significantly lower than those in the control group after training and 5 d later after training(P0.05). Conclusion Acupoint electrotherapy can effectively enhance the ability of anti-oxidation of the body and reduce the oxidation and lipid peroxidation induced by high-intensity sports, which is significant in promoting the quality of military training and strengthening the physical fitness of the soldiers.
