Objective To explore the changes and clinical significance of lymphocyte and monocyte VCS parameters in patients with mycoplasma pneumoniae( MP) and virus infection. Methods The lymphocyte and monocyte VCS parameters were detected in 197 patients with MP infection,194 patients with virus infection and 150 healthy children by the Coulter LH750 hematology analyzer, and the results were analyzed and compared by statistical methods. Results Compared to healthy children group, the WBC,MLC,MLS,MMV,MDW and MMC in patients with MP infection increased significantly, but the MMS reduced significantly( P〈 0. 01); while in patients with virus infection, the MLV,MLC,MMV,MDW and MMC increased apparently, but the MLS and MMS reduced apparently( P〈 0. 01). In comparision of patients with MP infection and patients with virus infection, the MLS and MMC increased markedly in MP infection group, but MLV and MMS decreased markedly( P〈 0. 01), and other indicators showed no significant statistical difference( P 〉0. 05). Conclusion The lymphocyte and monocyte VCS parameters are of great significance in the differential diagnosis of MP infection and viral infection.
